A healthy lifestyle is crucial for sustainable weight loss, but we also recognize that prescription medications can be beneficial for individuals living with obesity. Please answer these questions and we will send you information about how you can get started on semaglutide or tirzepatide.
Eligibility Information:
The EllieMD weight loss program is open to all genders and has certain criteria that must be met.
Be at least 18 years old.
Be residing in or physically located in one of the states where we offer services.
Demonstrate the need for medical treatment. If necessary, our team can assist you in obtaining recent lab results if requested by your healthcare provider.
Have an eligible BMI (Body Mass Index): The FDA has approved these medications for individuals living with obesity—defined as a body mass index (BMI) over 30—and also individuals with a BMI over 27 who have a qualifying health condition, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.
Not be pregnant or nursing
Not have any of the following conditions:
Type 1 Diabetes
A history of chronic pancreatitis or pancreatitis caused by taking weight loss medications (GLP-1)
A history of severe GI disease, current gallbladder problems (excluding previous gallbladder removal/cholecystectomy)
Retinal impairment/diabetic retinopathy
Had bariatric surgery less than 6 months ago or
Multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN-2), or a history of medullary thyroid cancer.
